MMH Recycles!

Did you know that MMH currently recycles in many ways?

  • Engineering works with Information Services to box up old computers and send them away for the parts to be recycled. (We’ve been doing this for eight years.)
  • Light bulbs and batteries are stored and picked up by the appropriate people every six months.
  • Cardboard is compacted by the hospital and recycled by Waste Management.
  • The mailroom recycles newspapers and all paper (except construction paper).
  • The Lobby Grille is constantly looking for products and paper goods that are more cost effective and environmentally friendly.  They have changed the cups from styrofoam, changed to paper plates and to a different brand of napkins.

A hospital recycling committee has been formed and is meeting regularly to explore other opportunities to recycle and change practices to become more environmentally friendly.
